The college NCC unit -1/29(A) Coy was commissioned in September 1994 with an authorized strength of 52 cadets. The unit has been infusing and nurturing the vital virtues like leadership, secularism, sense of national unity, patriotism, selfless service, discipline, hard work, endurance, physical fitness and other character building qualities in the youth of our college. The college NCC is indeed a nursery for grooming the future leaders in various walks of life and making them useful citizens of the nation.

At present our NCC unit has an authorized strength of 100 cadets (boys and girls). The Coy has many feathers in its cap. About more than 2000 cadets were effectively trained in the last 24 years and many of them are recognized as ‘distinguished’ in the public walks of life. U/O Vinayak Hegde, participated in the prestigious national level Tala Sena Camp in New Delhi, the highest one next only to RD Camp in the year 2002.

The unit excelled in many aspects. It was adjudged as General Champion at the Battalion level camps and competitions in the year 1998-99, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2005-06 and 2006-07. The unit has also won ‘The Best Firer’ medals on several occasions both in individual and team categories. Our several cadets clinched Gold Medals in several competitions held at different levels including state and national levels year after year.

Our ex-cadets have been serving in high profiled civil services and army services. Many of our cadets got seats in higher education on NCC quota. The College NCC has an excellent track record of outstanding achievements in leadership training programmes, cultural activities, sports and social service amphitheaters.
